I know that no single approach is the right one for every individual. I use diverse approaches depending on the individual, how they learn, and what they need. One size does not fit all when it comes to working with clients! Therefore, I individualize each treatment plan and goal strategy with the client. Strengthening relationships and recognizing healthy self-perceptions is part of the work I do with each client.
I have had a private practice in Palm Desert since 2008, working with individuals, couples, adolescents, and children. I have had extensive training and experience with couples, teenagers, parenting, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and LGBTQ+ issues.
My background also includes a massage therapy practice for 12 years where I was able to witness the powerful connection between mind and body. This led me to my interest in Health Psychology and gave me insight into how unexpressed emotion can impact our physiology and overall health. I received my PhD in Health Psychology with a focus on transgender young adults and health behaviors.
I have had experience working in an inpatient psychiatric hospital for seven years, where I worked closely with people challenged by mental and emotional issues such as severe depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.
I believe my wide-range of professional training, background, and knowledge, along with my personal life experiences, enables me to connect with a variety of people on a deep and personal level.
I look forward to meeting you!
